Week 23 – One thing…

This week, I am being to see the light and everything is coming together. Over the past two weeks I have entered into various moments of silence in an attempt to discover my true self. I have come away from various insights about myself and a clearer vision of where I want to go and who I want to be.

This week’s lesson has tied a lot of things together and picture is becoming clearer, I have been given the tools to assist me on this journey, including the law of least effort;

1)      Acceptance – I practice acceptance. Today I accept people, situations, circumstances and events as they occur. I know that this moment is as it should be, because the whole universe is as it should be. I struggle not against the whole universe by struggling against this moment. My acceptance is total & complete. I accept things as they are in this moment, not as I wish them were.

2)      Responsibility – Having accepted things as they are, I take responsibility for my situation and for all those events I see as problems. I know that taking responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for my situation (and this includes myself). I also know that every problem is an opportunity in disguise and this alertness to opportunities allows me to take this moment and transform it into a greater benefit.

3)      Defenselessness – Today my awareness remain established in defenselessness. I relinquish the need to defend my point of view. I feel no need to convince or persuade others to accept my point of view. I remain open to all points of view and not be rigidly attached to anyone of them.

Additionally, in the Hanaal readings, he’s talks about the spirit

“Spirit, whatever else it may or may not be, must be considered as the Essence of Consciousness, the Substance of Mind, the reality underlying Thought. And as all ideas are phases of the activity of Consciousness, Mind or Thought, it follows that in Spirit, and in it alone, is to be found the Ultimate Fact, the Real Thing, or Idea.”

“Spirituality” is quite “practical,” very “practical,” intensely “practical.” It teaches that Spirit is the Real Thing, the Whole Thing, and that Matter is but plastic stuff, which Spirit is able to create, mould, manipulate, and fashion to its will. Spirituality is the most “practical” thing in the world — the only really and absolutely “practical” thing that there is!

“… that man is not a body with a spirit, but a spirit with a body, and that it is for this reason that his desires are incapable of any permanent satisfaction in anything not spiritual.”

The previous statement from sums it up perfectly “we are not a body with a spirit but a spirit with a body”. Everything is coming together and the light is getting brighter as I approach my one thing (dharma). I would like to leave you the following inspiring quote;

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Marianne Williamson

Peace be the journey…

Week 22A ~ Into the Silence…

Last week, I talked about standing on the edge of the abyss with a decision of

1)      Step forward to slay the dragon and find your true self or

2)      Retreat and revert back to the old blue print.

I have ventured forward into the abyss but my true self can only be found in silence.

the_abyss_by_alexiuss-d5im6xf

We live in a world with constant distractions such as smart phones, email, TV, radio, newspapers, co-workers, friends & family. Its extreme difficult to find that silence, when there is so much “noise” around you.

Fs1Over the past week, I was able to find my “fortress of solitude” and have various pockets of silence. Unplugging myself from the world and focus on my thoughts was simply awesome, words can’t describe the feeling and clarity of thoughts.

Although I have feel good with what I have done but I feel I can uncover so much more by committing to longer period of silence.

It’s time to return to the silence…

Week 22 – Slaying the Dragon

When I first started this journey to self-discovery 22 weeks ago I had no idea where it was going to lead me or how it was going to end.

Now, I find my on the precipice of self-discovery with a numerous emotions running going through my mind both positive and negative, such as fear & excitement.

the_abyss_by_alexiuss-d5im6xf

This week, we talked about masks and how people live behind these masks to conform to the “world without” and not showing their true selves. Of the numerous things, I have learned from this course, this one was a slap in my face, BAMM!!!

slay-the-dragonOh my gosh!!! I have been living my life with behind these masks, conforming to the world without, being the employee, father, husband, etc. and yet I have not shown my true self. I started my “Hero’s Journey” 22 weeks ago, I learned many things with the help of mentors and my MKMMA classmates. Now, as I mentioned earlier I’m standing on the edge of the abyss to find my true self and to “slay the dragon” a metaphor for things that have kept me reaching my true potential and have hindered my progress such as (fear, guilt etc.)

Now it’s decision time!!!

1)      Step forward to slay the dragon and find your true self or

2)      Retreat and revert back to the old blue print.

I have come too far to turn back now; I have the knowledge, skills & positive vibrations of all my #MKMMA classmates to follow through to the end.

Time to enter into the abyss and see what emerges on the side.

Thanks for reading my blog, so until next time Peace be the Journey!

Week 21 – Clap Along….

This week has been amazing in the Master Keys; I know I mentioned that in previous blogs but Hanaal just keeps blowing me away every week and this week has been no different, additionally it’s beginning to start to come together everything that we have learned over these past 21 weeks.

I really had a tough time narrowing down the topic for this week blog until this morning when a follow MKMAAer (Rhonda Moss) tweeted  the following link this morning

Original Video

Movie Version with lyrics (Despicable Me 2)

I have heard this song previously on the radio and from the movie “Despicable Me 2” if you have kids.  This song & video by Pharrell Williams really lifted my spirits this morning after a long week. By the way what’s not to like about this song has a great beat, lyrics and it definitely lifts spirits. BTW, during the research for this blog, I found that Pharrell actually created a “24hour happiness” music video to this song, (I’ll attach the link below if you are interested in viewing it)

Over the past weeks we have talked about having a positive mental attitude and to positively charge your Dharma with feelings. Hanaal also mentions “mental attitude” again in this week’s readings

21 – 12. The predominant thought or the mental attitude is the magnet, and the law is that “like attracts like”, consequently the mental attitude will invariably attract such conditions as correspond to its nature.

21 -13. This mental attitude is our personality and is composed of the thoughts which we have been creating in our own mind; therefore, if we wish a change in conditions all that is necessary is to change our thought; this will in turn change our mental attitude, which will in turn change our personality, which will in turn change the persons, things and conditions, or, the experiences with which we meet in life.

21- 14. It is, however, no easy matter to change the mental attitude, but by persistent effort it may be accomplished; the mental attitude is patterned after the mental pictures which have been photographed on the brain; if you do not like the pictures, destroy the negatives and create new pictures; this is the art of visualization.

The last 2 passages are particularly important; if you don’t like the picture in our head change it, wow what a great concept! So, “if we wish a change in conditions all that is necessary is to change our thought; this will in turn change our mental attitude, which will in turn change our personality, which will in turn change the persons, things and conditions, or, the experiences with which we meet in life.” WOW!!!

So what’s does your picture look like? What’s your mental attitude going to be?

To help you I’ll  leave you with the following lyrics from “Happy” by Pharrell Williams

“clap along … if you feel like happiness is the truth”

“clap along … if you what happiness means to you”

“clap along … if you feel like that’s what you wanna do”

Clap along….

Thanks Rhonda, for sharing this video and I have also add it to my DMP playlist as well.

So until next time, Peace be the Journey!!!

Week 20 – Law of Supply & Demand (Redefined)

Supply-and-Demand-ScaleMost people are aware of the law of supply and demand, especially if you have taken any economic courses. Which, I have taken a few multiple economic courses in my past, the basic principle is based on the fact in economic terms the price of an item is determined by the supply and demand of the item, for example in real estate, in simple terms excluding other factors, sale price of home is determined by supply of the homes available and others buyers, in addition to the demand created by other buyers/ investors or other favorable conditions such as interest rates etc, basically the point were it balances equally.

I don’t want to bore with an economics lesson but I wanted to share my revelation this week during our readings of the Master Keys, which has opened my eyes to a much deeper & meanful definition of Supply & Demand, as Hanaalwrites;

20. We can live more abundantly every time we breathe, if we consciously breathe with that intention. The IF is a very important condition in this case, as the intention governs the attention, and without the attention you can secure only the results which everyone else secures. That is, a supply equal to the demand.

21. In order to secure the larger supply your demand must be increased, and as you consciously increase the demand the supply will follow, you will find yourself coming into a larger and larger supply of life, energy and vitality.

27. Thought is creative vibration and the quality of the conditions created will depend upon the quality of our thought, because we cannot express powers which we do not possess. We must “be” before we can “do” and we can “do” only to the extent to which we “are,” and so what we do will necessarily coincide with what we “are” and what we are depends upon what we “think.”

28. Every time you think you start a train of causation which will create a condition in strict accordance with the quality of the thought which originated it. Thought which is in harmony with the Universal Mind will result in corresponding conditions. Thought which is destructive or discordant will produce corresponding results. You may use thought constructively or destructively, but the immutable law will not allow you to plant a thought of one kind and reap the fruit of another. You are free to use this marvelous creative power as you will, but you must take the consequences.

As mentioned in previous posts, the power of thought has a massive payoff if applied in the correct way, as Hanaal mentions;

13. This power of thought, if understood and correctly used, is the greatest labor-saving device ever dreamed of, but if not understood or improperly used, the result will in all probability be disastrous, as we have already seen; by the help of this power you can confidently undertake things that are seemingly impossible, because this power is the secret of all inspiration, all genius.

17. An understanding of these facts, first intellectually and then emotionally, will enable us to drink deeply from this ocean of infinite power. An intellectual understanding will be of no assistance; the emotions must be brought into action; thought without feeling is cold. The required combination is thought and feeling.

As stated, previously whatever we consistently think about grows and add emotion and its only a matter of time before it becomes reality. I express tremendous gratitude to everyone that reads my post, and I would like to leave with this last thought from Hanaal.

“The spirit of a thing is that thing; it is necessarily fixed, changeless and eternal. The spirit of you is — you; without the spirit you would be nothing. It becomes active through your recognition of it and its possibilities.”

Week 19 – Strike a Pose!!!

I’m still on high from last week and this week has been no different.

As you know we have been training our mind for the past 19 weeks and everyone knows the mind is the most powerful mechanism on the planet but the lesson this week takes it to a whole different level!

It like a Double BAM! BAM! As Mark J likes to say.

Bam

Before I continue you need to check this video by Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist on how your body language shapes who you are;

This video is absolutely AWESOME!! I have watched it about a few times now and every time it blows me away!! Power poses who knew? A very few but I whole a lot more people know about it now, including you.

amy-cuddy-power-pose-visualization

I can totally relate to her example about job interviews, I been through my fair share and when it didn’t go my way I would always look back and think “what could I have done more or better”.  Amy talks about “fake it till you become it”, what a simple and impactful concept, if you are willing to change, we need to train our mind with these “power poses” to become the person we were intended to be.

So which pose will you be striking?

Week 18 – Change be Coming !!

What an amazing week!!

The Seahawks won the Super Bowl!!! Finally, I get to see a championship team from the Pacific Northwest.

 seahawks

Go SEAHAWKS!!

Prior to the Super Bowl, we had our weekly Master Keys webinar, by far the best one to date; fitting that it was on the “Super” Sunday.

During the webinar Trish, one of the facilitator of the program, talk about her own personal story (aka Hero’s Journey), words can’t describe how impactful her story was on me, I was truly blown away. It cemented my belief and commitment to continue with my own hero’s journey.

As you probably tell I have been on cloud 9 since Sunday’s events. Additionally, one of your assignments this week was to watch one of the following movies: Finding Joe or “I am”.

 i am

I selected the documentary “I am” by Tom Shadyac, who has directed/ produced the following movies; “Ace Ventura”, Nutty Professor”, “Bruce Almighty”, Evan Almighty” among others. Sufficed to say a very successfully director, so you might be asking yourself why would he do a documentary?

Without spoiling for you, Tom had a very serious biking accident and had suffered a concussion. He was dealing with post-concussion symptoms, while he lived his “normal” life and only started getting better once he eliminated things from his life and started to live under basic conditions.

 tom-shadyac-i-am-b_scruberthumbnail_0

He decided to do this documentary to find the answers to the following two questions:

1)      What’s wrong with our world?

2)      What can we do about it?

Tom talks to numerous scientists, religious leaders, etc  including David Suzuki (a local scientist from Vancouver) to find answers to the two questions  previously mentioned. Overall, it discusses how society has moved from “we” to “me”, and the individualistic/ materialistic character of present day human beings. Additionally, they identified that the “heart” is the true source of power that it influences all other areas of the body including the mind.

So how do change the world?

It starts with the “Power of One”, it starts with one person (you, me, whom ever) from are heart and our actions and it then starts to grows (i.e. the law of growth). Most of these lessons coincide with what we are already learning in the Master Keys.

Change be coming!!

As always, peace be the journey!
