MKMMA Week 2 – Words…

shorelineWhat do you think of when you see a great piece of artwork? Such art work as paints, sculptures, architecture, literature and books etc.

How many people have a seen a great painting in a museum? Who is this creative artist? How did this painting come about, well it starts with the artist having an inspiration or an artmonaidea. Then he/she takes that idea/ inspiration and begins to transition it to the canvas. This process can take days, month or years depending on the scope of the project to complete their artwork. What is the result? A stunning painting, sculptures, etc that people marvel at and wonder how it came into being.

How did this structure come about, again it starts with the artist having an inspiration or an idea. Then he/she takes that idea/ inspiration and begins to transition it to the drawings . This process can take days, month or years depending on the scope of the project to complete their eiffel-towerstructure. What is the result? A stunning a building that people marvel at and wonder how it came into being.

However, I believe that words are the greatest forms of art. I know what you thinking what are you talking about? Just hear me out, words put together make sentences, sentences make paragraphs and so on. We can use words to create whatever our heart desires. Over the past two weeks, I have been honored and privileged to have read Definite Major Purpose (DMP’s) from the 20+ members of the 2014/2015 Masterkey class . These members “artists” are creating their masterpiece one word at a time. The result an amazing and exciting picture of their dharma/ bliss, that people marvel at and wonder how it came into being.

Week 6 – Reflection

We are in week 6 of this incredible journey, there is no shortage of topics to talk about this week as there is so much going on, it boggles the mind at times.

I am really enjoying being the observer over the past few weeks, noticing everything around me, actually wrote a blog about “smell the roses” a few weeks ago. Anyways, yesterday at a cold ice rink during my son’s skating lesson, I had one of those Hollywood flashback moments, watching my son and reflecting on my past 6 weeks of my journey and how far I have come.

time

My son, who is 3 years old, just started taking skating lessons around the same time as I started this Master Key Course. He had done skating before but with either my wife or I on the ice with him, this was the first time he had to do it all by himself. During that first lesson, I could see that his was nervous and excited at the same time, I can’t remember how many times he fell but he got right back up again and kept trying. After the lesson, I asked how it was “it’s fun Dad, I love it” he replied, he didn’t think twice about the time he fell.

Week 2, same thing happened, he was unfazed and determined, Week 3, same thing happened, he was unfazed and determined ,Week 4 same thing happened, he was unfazed and determined ,Week 5 same thing happened, he was unfazed and determined

Week 6, during the initial start of the lesson you could sense the nervousness but you see his determination as well, with a little help from the instructor, he finally was able to glide on his own and be able to center his balance and not fall down. The smile and excitement on his face was simply priceless and as a parent to witness and recognize that moment was absolutely amazing.

Witnessing my son’s achievement made me realize how far I have come so far on this master key journey. Initially, I can remember being nervous and excited about what this course would bring and up to this point the journey has been incredible. Over the past few weeks, I have begun reconstructing my new “mental home”, replacing bad habits with good habits, negative thoughts with positive thoughts, learning the law of giving & receiving and being of service to others, just to mention a few. Thus laying the new foundation for my new mental home, this is a process just like how my son is learning to skate, learn the fundamentals first and the rest will follow.

At times, the course workload can seem tough but I know that it is part of the process and to build my new mental home I need a strong foundation.  In addition, to my family I know at anytime that I can lean on my fellow MKMMA’ers for support and guidance (THANK YOU!!!).

Just like my son, I promise to keep getting up and complete each task and like him I can see myself “gliding” to my new reality in 20 more weeks.

I promise to keep persisting through the work to create my new reality!!

I always keep my promises.

Week 5 – Transformation Begins..

This week has been especially intense from the regular readings and blog posts to creating a “Press Release”, switching to Scroll 2 on Friday, in addition to our regular lives. I almost forgot, the exercise for this week is not to give opinions, red-sirentalk about challenging,  I didn’t realize I was so opinionated, LOL. As you can imagine the emotions that I was going thru, worry, panic, where am I going to find this time, which is ironic these are the very things I am trying to eliminate for my life.

stop_lightAfter this initial shock, I got a grip on the mind and emotions stayed faithful with the daily routine, I knew that this was going to be a breeze, but I still had my moments of doubt. Initially I thought how am I going to write this “press release” a story of my dharma already unfolded but as I started to type it and with “DO IT NOW” resonating in my head the words just flowed out me effortlessly, simply amazing when I reflect back on it.

Things are being to “FLOW”, which makes competing these tasks seemingly effortless. I am beginning to think Mark knows what he is talking about it, last week during our “sit” or meditation Haanel asks us to eliminate these negatives thoughts.

Mind

“This week, after taking your usual position, remove all tension by completely relaxing, then mentally let go of all adverse conditions, such as hatred, anger, worry, jealousy, envy, sorrow, trouble or disappointment of any kind.”

“…You will not succeed the first time you try, but practice makes perfect, in this as in everything else, and you must succeed in dismissing, eliminating and completely destroying these negative and destructive thoughts; because they are the seed which is constantly germinating into discordant conditions of every conceivable kind and description.”

all_in_buttonI am absolutely stunned by being “ALL IN” that new habits are starting to take shape and old ones are being dismissed. By being the “OBSERVER”, I am able to catch my thoughts and be the gate keeper of what thoughts enter my mind, now how cool is that!!

I know it’s only week 5 but I am absolutely blow away by the changes so far. I’m eager and excited of what’s to come!!
